International Workshop. Aula Crociera Alta di Giurisprudenza, Via Festa del Perdono, 7, Milano. In the early '80s, Saul Kripke, drawing on some remarks from the Philosophical Investigations and other works of Wittgenstein's, formulated a skeptical paradox concerning rule-following and meaning. Kripke's work has generated a plethora of different answers, reactions, and responses - and has also given rise to several parallel debates concerning cognate topics, such as the issue of the (alleged) normativity of meaning. This workshop aims at discussing the paradox and some of the most interesting philosophical troubles that came with it.
