Social science and social ontology; rule-following, the nature of institutions, modelling, collective agency, and responsibility.

Short presentation:

Frank Hindriks is Chair of the Department of Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy at the University of Groningen, and Member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities. He is a prominent contributor to debates in the philosophy of social science and social ontology, on a variety of topics that include rule-following, the nature of institutions, modelling, collective agency, and responsibility.

During his period as Visiting Professor he will run a seminar on constitutive rules that will give participants an opportunity to discuss his own position as well as the main alternatives that have emerged in the literature during the past two decades.
